Hiram
A national theater program dedicated to making a positive impact on urban communities kicked off Black History Month (February 2010) with the launch of the Broadway in the Hood series and a musical written by award-winning playwright Terrance Afer-Anderson .
"Hiram & Nettie," a love story of two slaves living in 1820s Georgia, was presented by A Source of Joy Theatricals, at the West Las Vegas Library.
Hiram, a "field" slave, is played by veteran Broadway actor Michael LeMelle and Nettie, a "house" slave, is played by local student actress Adrianna Simon.
